Your voice, briefly.

The short version: we record only when you're playing, use takes only for the round they belong to, and delete them right after.

Microphone access

Echo Riot asks for your microphone only when you press a button to turn it on (mic check, practice, or a game). Your browser shows its own permission prompt and indicator.

Audio is captured only during a recording window — a few seconds per round — never continuously. You can turn the mic off at any time in Settings or by leaving the game.

What happens to your takes

Practice and local party: takes are analysed on your device and never uploaded.

Online rooms: each take is converted to a short, low-resolution WAV (16 kHz mono, a few hundred KB) and uploaded over an encrypted connection to the game server, which scores it and lets the other players in your room play it back.

Online takes are held in server memory only — never written to disk or to the database — and are deleted as soon as the round's results are shown, or after 10 minutes at the latest. Playback links are signed, scoped to your room and expire.

What we store

A guest profile: the display name and creature you chose, and a random player id. No email, no password, no tracking cookies.

Match results: who played, scores (numbers only), chaos wheel outcomes and timestamps. Metadata about each take (length, size, when it was deleted) is kept for auditing; the audio is not.

On this device: your profile token, settings, practice best scores and any sound packs you import (in browser storage).

Deleting your data

Settings → “Delete my data” removes your guest profile and stats from the server and clears this browser. Shared match results keep only the display name you used, without a link to you.

Other players

People in your room hear your takes and see your name and scores. Only join rooms with people you're happy to share silly noises with.
